Thought I’d post a picture of the sketchbook I mentioned in my last post, along with a review. Its thick, luxurious paper is wonderful to draw on, and it accepts watercolor very nicely. Minimal rippling. Two of my favorite artists, Roz Stendahl and Danny Gregory, also use and recommend them.

We’ve had this statue for many years. It’s on top of the amoire that holds the TV and VCR. I like the way light sometimes makes a halo over its head.

I had a dream about drawing a purple Tootsie Pop, so I went to Barney’s in New Buffalo with Holly to buy some. Was hoping to find the large ones, since the only size I’ve seen lately have been tiny. Score!

I bought this bust of Venus many years ago, I think at Pier One. She’s been moved way too many times. On one unfortunate occasion she broke her neck. But I think she looks better now than she ever did, because, after all, no one’s perfect, not even Venus.
I sketched her yesterday.
