I’ve been spending a fair amount of time getting my shop up and running on etsy. Today I posted one of my favorite pen and ink pieces, Primitive Statue. We have many small figures at home, collected over many years. I guess if they had one thing in common it would be their strange, otherworldly quality. They seem as though they’re little people: some very serious and stalwart, others funny and quirky, and some, noble guardians.
They all have in common this strange anthropomorphic quality, containing the presence of something alive. This is why I love and draw them. This piece was done with a micron pen on pre-stamped paper.
